The fine print

Privacy.

Last updated June 17, 2026

The short version: this website collects almost nothing about you. No accounts, no forms, no advertising, no tracking cookies. The little that happens is explained below, in plain language.

What this site collects

Nothing directly. thelastromantic.co has no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, and no shopping cart. You can read every page without giving me anything.

Subscribing

Email subscriptions are handled entirely by Substack. When you subscribe, your email address and subscription are stored and managed by Substack, not by this site. Their privacy policy and terms govern that data. The Substack subscribe form you use elsewhere on this site is Substack’s, and using it may set Substack’s own cookies.

Analytics

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. It is privacy-preserving and cookieless: it sets no tracking cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not build a profile of you. It reports only aggregate, non-identifying traffic.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no tracking cookies of its own. It may keep small functional preferences and feature data in your browser’s local storage, such as your motion setting, anything you make in the on-site artwork tool, or how you have played with an interactive page. All of it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. The only third-party cookies that can appear are Substack’s, and only if you use a Substack subscribe form elsewhere on this site.

No advertising, no selling

There are no ad networks, no third-party trackers, and no data brokers here. I do not sell or share your personal information, because I do not collect it.

Hosting

The site is served over HTTPS by Cloudflare, which provides hosting, security, and the cookieless analytics described above.

Your rights and questions

Because this website itself collects no personal data about you, there is nothing here to access or delete. Your subscription data lives with Substack, so the fastest way to access, correct, or delete it is through your Substack account or Substack directly. For anything else, reply to any of my letters and it reaches me.

Changes

If this ever changes, the date at the top changes with it.
