An Update, From the Desk of The Last Romantic

The author lies back across a tan leather armchair in glasses and red lipstick, legs crossed up over its back in patterned stockings, a mustard cushion and a shelf of books behind her.
Pl. 01

It’s crazy how time flies. 2 months left essentially of the year, and so many lessons learned. A few months ago I highlighted starting sukisong.com , and I’m grateful beyond words at how that’s ramped up.

I’m excited to be partnering with brilliant creatives like @abigail.enright , and enabling them to continue inspiring the world. My passion remains the same, here: I want to use my technical and business skills to help the people who can make the most change in the world. Right now, I believe those are the artists and writers being stifled by our administration.

My chapter with Meta came to an end in July, and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t devastating at the time. It’s never easy when routines change, and it was the machine that allowed me to complete my second World Tour.

That, with a car accident a week later, tested me more than I thought I could handle.

Fast forward and I’m honored to announce that I’m now part of the Microsoft family, and through the weird magic of the universe, my estranged, adoptive mom who helped me get my citizenship here in the US and I work in the same darn department.

We’re excited to catch up and trace my roots together, ultimately kicking off my Third World Tour next year. While I’m excited for this, you also know I will always be a solo traveler at heart — so please stay tuned for that, too.

That’s all to say, everything happens for a reason, and life works in funny ways.

One thing that’s taken a bit of a backseat through all of this was my intent to continue the creative parts of me I left behind: my paintings, music, modeling, and of course, writing.

It’s made me think a lot about the value of time. And I don’t know about you, but while I love connecting and seeing your highlights on Instagram, it doesn’t fill my cup. If I love you, I’ll fly to see you.

I also don’t complain, because it’s a blessing to have this problem: but studying and work takes up a lot of my time. I want to ensure I’m doing right by the little girl Suki that wants to accomplish a lot of things the rest of the year, and next, and next. I’m just hesitant to share all of them with you, because I think I can be a little superstitious like that.

I don’t have Snap, X, TikTok, (so report if you see!) and I’ll only be on IG on desktop going forward to post updates for my work. I also do not check Substack Chat.

I’m an old-fashioned gal. So if you’d like to reach me, email me. hi@sukisong.com - you’d be surprised, it might spark something magical between us.

While sukisong.com is my bread and butter, I really do hope you stay tuned to thelastromantic.co — it’s my heart and my soul. ❤️

P.S. Two things leave this desk by post: a letter in my hand, and a book I chose, with a letter about why.
